Marseilles Circuit
From Toulon to the gulf of Genoa, the Mediterraneenne coast was called Riviera. But in the XIXth
century, a French novelist was struck so much by the harmony of blue of the French coast that it
named it the ”Côte d’Azur”. The sea is blue, the sky is blue, the lavender is blue... The ”Côte d’Azur”,
extended on some 180 km, is a true garden of delights…
Sometimes elegant, sometimes ravissant, it is constellated with splits and more pleasant panoramas
the ones than the others.
Since 600 years before JC, with the arrival of the first Greek colonists who were established in
splendid natural bay of Marseilles.
”Notre Dame de la Garde”, the castle ‘Chateau d’If” built over white Ile where the count ”Monté-
Cristo” was locked up.With its fortress which frame the entry of the Old Port (St Jean fortress and St
Nicolas fortress), the ”Panier”, the older Marseilles’ quarter. The ”Pointe Rouge” and The ”Goudes”
which skirt the sea all along the coasst. The ”Longchamp” palate, which shelters the museum of the
Fine arts and natural history. The Kennedy cornice and the small valley of Auffres, tiny fishing port
with its tiny Marseilles boats, etc...

Pagnol circuit and neighbourhood
While leaving Marseilles, we propose to you to leave on the traces Marcel Pagnol. Aubagne
direction "the small world of Pagnol". The santonniers Aubagnais gathered 200 single parts there
representing all the characters of films and the books of this author. The circuit Marcel Pagnol will
then enable you to discover the sites which inspired him and were used for turning of his films:
Buzine which is the true Castle of ”Le Chateau de ma Mère” (movie), the ”Treille” (village) with the
fountain of ”Manon des Sources” (movie).
Further away from Aubagne, let’s gon in direction of ”Cassis” (village) by the road the ”Gineste”
where a unspoilable view on Marseilles waits you. ”Cassis”, small port known by the famous
painters,Derain, Matisse and Kisling who showed through their works his marine charm: sailing
ships, beaches surrounded of rocks and cliffs and sea blue, green, silver plated. Without forgetting
its good tables on the port with its ”Bouillabaisse” and its good wines.

Circuit Dawdling between sea and hills
Located between the Provence and the ”Côte d’ Azur”, ”La Ciotat” is a small seaside resort which
knew to preserve its authentic side.
6 kilometers of sand-beaches, exceptional creeks and the small pebble-beaches encrusted in rock,
sheltered by centenaries pines-tree, with dimension peaceful and natural.
The ”Route des Crètes” (road) with its exceptional panorama on bay of ”La Ciotat” culminated to 394
metters of altitude. The neighbourhoods of ”La Ciotat” by the ”Route des Crètes” or the view on
”Cassis” and bay of ”La Ciotat” are dazzling. On top of this sinuous road, you’ll arrived on the ”Cap
Canaille”, emblematic place since they are the highest cliffs of Europe.
”Roquefort la Bedoule” (village) further on the road to ”La Ciotat”, you’ll see the cottage of the
guards with its unspoilable view on bay of ”La Ciotat” and ”Saint Cyr ”, and the vault ”St André”.
Then not very far, the small village of ”Gemenos” located at bottom of the hill ”Sainte-Baume”. On
the road, you’ll see the first mill, the open-air theatre, then it is the field of ”Saint Pons”, oasis of
tranquility, of relaxation and freshness, the old village, "Castrum Port", the ruins of ”Paradou”, the
vault ”Saint Martin”, the Cistercian abbey, the glaciers …
A small turn towards ”Carnoux” (village) and its church ”Notre Dame d’Afrique”
Ceyreste, small village located at tbottom of the hills. It is good to stroll in the lanes of the old village
where one finds the seal of the villages of Provence.

Circuit the blue coast
Departure from Marseilles, ”L’Estaque” (village) towards 5 communes having each one a perfume of
holidays.
”Niolon” (village) is the ideal place to start the day in good mood. Indeed small wild splits, turquoise
water and Umbrella Pines (trees) will plunge you in a feeling of softness.
”Ensuès”, small village close to ”Rove” (village) is the beginning of a series of ports and creeks.
”Carry le Rouet” is visited by yachtmen as welle as by fishermen.
”Sausset les Pins” (village), true seaside resort but while keeping charms and authenticity.
”Carro-la-Couronne” (village) is the last port of ”The Bleue Coast”.
Further, we can go down towards the ”Camargue” to ride a horse on the beach.

Circuit ”Azur”
Below Marseilles, Toulon is the most important city of ”The Bleue Coast”. In the neighbourhoods of
Toulon’s bay, the prettiest corners but also most secret of the Riviera.
On the other side of Toulon begins a succession of small beaches: ”Lavandou”, ”Ste Maxime” and
”St Tropez”. Followed by ”St Raphaël”, ”Agay”, ”Anthéor”, ”Trayas”, ”La Napoule”, they form a garland
of beaches the ones close to the others leading in Italy while passing by large cities like ”Cannes”,
”Nice”, ”Monaco” and ”Menton”.

Circuit of the Grounds
In the neighbourhoods of Marseilles, with ”Aix enProvence”, with its monuments, its small lanes
pedestrians, its museum of the ”Calisson” (douceur), the”Sainte-Victoire” mountain whose color
varies white with the pale gray or purple luminous according to time's and we carry on our way
higher towards the Grounds with the high villages of ”Luberon”:
”Oppèdele Vieux”, to discover this majestic village where time seems stoped, followed of an olive
oil tasting of country in its mill to oil.
”Ménerbes ” and with its museum ”Tire-Bouchon” where you willtaste the wines of the Coasts of
Luberon.
Vestiges of the Castle of the ”Marquis de Sade” ,and the visit of Bonnieux, village of charm.
Luberon: field of scrubland and holm oaks, is classified natural regional park, whilth its valley of
”Nesque” opens on panoramas of a wild and imposing beauty. The plates of ”Sault” and ”Albion”,
covered with lavender present many swallow-holes.
Without forgetting, ”Coasts of Luberon”. The vineyard extends on 36 communes, all located inside
Lubéron and also ”the black diamond of Provence”, i.e. Truffle.

Circuit El Dorado provencal
On the way of ”Gordes” (village classified among "the Most beautiful Villages of France"), visit of the
village of ”Bories” (small huts made of stone dries), and of the Abbey of ”Sénanque”, jewel of
architecture cistercian nested in her ECRIN of lavenders.
”Roussillon”, village built on an ochre cliff: the stones, the roofs, the environment are impregnés by
the same dyed red. Picturesque village extremely well held: streets in staircase, passage under
vaults, beautiful old houses, good restaurations.Un protected natural reserve, with a green nature
remained intact, full of botanical paths. "Colorado Provençal" whith infinite nuances of its ochre
layers, used in a pure state by the craftsmen for the creation of their multicoloured potteries. This
original nature is a source of inspiration for considerable artists who come y ressourcer.
Tasting of the Wines of the Coasts of Ventoux.
”Isle on Sorgue” forms part of the musts, impossible to circumvent of Provence. Called Venice of
Provence. The "chineurs", amateurs of beautiful objects, secondhand trades and art galleries will be
filled, there is indeed nearly 300 antique dealers in this small city!
The fountains of Vaucluse, a village whose its secret is the beauty of the site, the spectacle
impressing of the emergence of water fascinated literary and scientific authors from time
immemorial and make of this commune a high international tourist place.

same time fortress and luxurious dwelling, drawing up itself above the Rhone crossed by the ruins
of the famous bridge of Avignon, known by a famous children's dance.
